Doesn’t it suck to be suffering from muscle aches that get you all uncomfortable? I’d like to share my new massage ball discovery that cures muscle aches and tensions. I had discovered a tool, FHYball, that could get right into the muscles in my shoulders and back to provide some relief like a self-performed physiotherapy session. It’s basically any fitness junkie’s gold.
I deal with a lot of muscle ache and tension from the high-intensity training, and my solution was foam rolling. Speaking of that, I found it ineffective in reaching certain muscles around my shoulders and back. Thus I eventually ‘lost interest’ in spending time foam rolling.
My New ‘Massage Ball’ Discovery : FHYball

The FHYball is a massage ball designed by a certified Physiotherapist founder, Shaun, with an aim to help everyone with their fitness goals and wellbeing altogether. Indeed a great product that took a total of 4 years from conceptualisation to final production.
It works so amazing in relieving my muscle ache , muscle tension, locked up knots, and pain all over!
It has a unique barbell shape designed for not just athletes, but anyone from drivers to office workers. Why so?
1. ‘Physiotherapy’ in your hands
Similar to going for a sports massage, the 2 pointed sides of the FHYball mimics the olecranon – the tip of the elbow joint that sports masseurs use on athletes to break down the stubborn muscle nodes, promoting the release of any muscle tension. Other than using it manually to loosen the muscle nodes, the FHYball can also be rolled on using body weight, especially for the neck, back, triceps, quadriceps, calves and sole of the feet.
2. Portable and durable
Did I mention those drivers and office workers who would love this? Definitely, because it’s almost pocket size! I’ve one on my office desk as well because my neck gets tensed by the time it hits the late afternoon.
Specs:
* 40mm x 60mm
* Silicon rubber
* Superior resistance to heat and cold
* Portable and travel-friendly
* Sweat-proof, simple to clean
* Load test: able to support up to 400kg/880lbs
3. Effective Massage Ball
There are many ways to roll and release your muscle ache (I’ll be showing some basic examples below). Note the extra “bump” at the end to simulate deep tissue release using an elbow, it’s really great when it’s at the right spot! When my shoulders feel sore during training, I would use this after and that’s usually sufficient to solve the issue.
Also, the FHYball assists in getting rid of lymph and waste materials that are trapped in the muscles and joints. Try it yourself and roll them out. You will feel that awesome sensation of release as though you had a good long stretch.
The Shoulders:
Apply pressure onto the muscles around your neck and shoulders. You'd be able to feel the 'right' spots when you're playing around with it. Apply pressure for a good 30 seconds or more depending on the tightness, and feel the muscle ache relieved!

The IT Band
Roll on the sides of your IT band with your body weight.

The Glutes
You may sit on certain spots you feel your muscle ache for 60 seconds, before rolling it out with your body weight.

The Quads
Facing the ground, roll it like how you would for a foam roller in releasing any muscle tension.

Overall, the FHYball is the most effective and functional release tool I’ve come across to help reduce inflammation, tightness and to assist in performance. Available in 2 colours : Black and Lime Green, you can get them at a super affordable price on Fhysio's website here .
